The Dramatic Play Center in my Classroom is a Camping Center.  It incudes a campsite area with a fire pit, picnic supplies, a ranger station and bait shop, and a pond for fishing. The dress-up clothes include vests, jackets, fishing hats, and other outdoorsy clothes.  There are crocs and boots for shoes.  The pond is made from an inverted trashcan lid that is attached to a wooden base.

We celebrated International Mud Day on June 28, 2013.  I filled 2 plastic pools with dirt - it was more like red clay.  We added water and the fun began.  The children wore old clothes and could get as muddy as they wanted.  In fact, each child had created a "Mud Plan".  They drew mud on a stick figure to show how muddy they were going to get.  All of the children chose to play in the mud except for one.  He decided his job was to add water to the mud and then pour water on his friends.  We had so much fun!  Once we were cleaned up, the children reviewed their mud plan to see how close they followed it.
